A cycling accident victim, who is also a cycling campaigner is battling back to health after a freak accident involving a sheet of plastic. (see original post here.)
Lindsi Bluemel was left fighting for her life after she clipped a 16ft long sheet of plastic, fell from her bike and landed head first on the concrete. Her helmet had been stolen just days before and she hadn't found the time to replace it.
Her injuries included a fractured eye socket and bruising of the brain.
Rhiannon, Daughter of the Campaigner said: "We are lucky she is okay. It could have been so much worse. It was scary. She was really sick when she first went into hospital and it could have gone either way. We have been told she will make a complete recovery.
Police are still investigating the accident.
A cyclist has been injured whilst taking part in a cycling competition on the Isle of White. He was taken to hospital following a collision with a car. Police closed the road and the rider was taken by ambulance to hospital.
It is not thought the man sustained serious injuries and organisers of the competition confirmed he had been taking part in the cycling event.
