A cyclist from Bridgewater has called out to motorists asking them to be more aware of those on two wheels.
The plea was made after he was almost involved in a cycling accident with a lorry.
The 55-year-old said the lorry came within inches of hitting him after trying to overtake on a dangerous stretch of road.
"One wobble the wrong way and I would have been under the wheels of that lorry.
"I think had there been a slight turn of his wheel, or had I been less well-balanced, I would have been off my bike and he wouldn't have known. I feel drivers should pay more attention to cyclists and give more space."
Other cyclists from the area say they have noticed an increase in the amount of HGVs on the local roads due to the opening of a brand new Morrisons supermarket.
They are now looking for the local Council to introduce more designated cycle paths to improve safety.
